How to list your spare room
This is for you if you live in a house share and you have a spare room to fill. To list the room, you must: 1) Be a current resident of the property, or be the person moving out of the spare room looking to replace yourself, and 2) Have permission from your landlord to sublet.
Step by step listing guide
- Go to ‘Post a New Listing’
- Give your Listing a title, e.g. ‘Bright room in 3-bed Shoreditch flat’
- Add your Listing Description. This is where the bulk of your information will go. Think about key property information, what makes the space unique, and what’s in the surrounding area.
- Add your Available From Date - what’s the earliest date you’d be happy for someone to move in to the property? Be as specific as you can, e.g. 2nd February 2026.
- Add your Available Until Date - when does this person need to move out? If there’s no set date, give an estimate of how long their tenancy could be.
- Select the property type.
- Add the total number of bathrooms in the property.
- Add the number of current housemates - how many other people are living in this property?
- Select all applicable Key Features.
- About the Current Household Members - give a description of you and your housemates. What industries are they in? Are you a mixed-gender house? What do you like to do as a household? What would you want someone to know before moving in?
- Select your current household’s typical Living Style.
- Select your current household’s Cleanliness Preference.
- Is the space furnished - including the room being listed?
- Are bills included?
- Are pets allowed?
